Legendary Bremerton, WA punk trio, MxPx will release a music documentary entitled Both Ends Burning, featuring footage from the band's 2008 world tour all the way to the band's sold-out Seattle show in March 2011. In this brutally honest depiction of the band, MxPx finds themselves at a crossroads in their career, struggling to find the balance between full time jobs, and the life of a touring musician. Directed by Bryan Buchelt of Snaproll Studios, the DVD will be available digitally on December 1 through most online retail outlets and the band's website (www.mxpx.com). The physical version, which includes over 20 minutes of deleted scenes, will be available December 8 through the band's website. Pre-order packages are available now.
Since the release of their third album Life In General in 1996, which launched them to success with hits "Chick Magnet" "Move To Bremerton", and "Doing Time", MxPx has been on the road constantly, touring first across the country and then around the world. Touring since the age of 15, they've weathered the trials of friendship and the pressure of performing every night. However, the love/hate relationship of their friendship has endured in tight quarters, and the unexpected experience touring the world brings has reaffirmed of the legacy MxPx has built within the last 19 years by fellow bands and fans.
A documentary about both life and music, Both Ends Burning is both a realization of how far the band has come, and how much further they want to go. Nearing two decades of playing together, it was late 2010 when drummer Yuri Ruley questioned being in the band and performed what he thought would be his last performance as a full-time member of MxPx at Wasted Space in The Hard Rock Cafe, Las Vegas. At the same time, guitarist Tom Wisniewski turned in his part-time status as well, taking on a full-time job in Bremerton.
But playing that show in Las Vegas provided more than a chance to reminisce about the past through their first full Life In General live set, the sold-out show helped rekindling the spark of creativity, reaffirming that Ruley and Wisniewski would continue with the band but would drastically scale back on touring. Both have since remained members of the band and are currently in the studio with vocalist and bassist, Mike Herrera finishing up their ninth full-length album, to be released in early 2012.
In addition to featuring some of the bands travel experiences, remedies to handling conflict and personal space issues while on the road, the DVD also includes interviews with friends and peers of the band that continue to support the band and their music. Special guests include: Ethan Luck (Relient K), Stephen Egerton (Descendants), Jeremy McKinnon (A Day To Remember), Chris Demakes (Less Than Jake), along with many more, add their individual anecdotes to the story, collectively agreeing on how influential the band has been and the true legacy the band has built.
MxPx is sorry to hear that the Livestock Festival at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore has been cancelled.
No worries, you'll be able to see us perform. Keep checking in to see updates from the studio!

Mike Herrera: Live From The Basement Album To Be Released On April 21
Live Set List To Include MxPx, Tumbledown and Arthur Hits; Exclusive Tour T-Shirt and Bundle Merch Packages Will Be Available
Los Angeles, CA April 13, 2011 – After continuous requests from fans, Bremerton, WA musician MIKE HERRERA will finally be making his way across the U.S. to the East Coast for a month-long acoustic tour with Gasoline Heart’s Louis DeFabrizio. Well know as the frontman of punk-pop trio MXPX, Herrera has broadened his fanbase with the debut of his alt-country band, TUMBLEDOWN, and tapped into his 50’s/60’s melodic rock side project ARTHUR late last year. Herrera has written his way into his fan’s hearts over the course of his 17-year long career, selling more than 1.5 million records and touring the world. With an endless archive of tracks to choose from, Herrera will be performing a highly anticipated set list full of MXPX, ARTHUR and TUMBLEDOWN hits. With the set lists varying from city to city, fans are encouraged to shout out their favorite tracks for a possible impromptu addition.
“I’m excited to finally be able to reach our East Coast fans who have been waiting too long for one of my bands to come through town,” said Herrera. “This tour will allow me to truly connect with MxPx, Arthur and Tumbledown fans in an intimate setting, which will hopefully suffice the long wait!”
In addition to special tour merch packages, the tour will be the first chance for fans to purchase Mike Herrera: Live From The Basement, a release that truly captures the essence of the tour. “I don’t want fans to think this is a solo album,” said Herrera. “It’s just a live recording of me, performing my songs in my basement. I want fans to be able to take a similar version of what they heard on this tour home with them.” The album will be available online starting the first day of the tour, Thursday, April 21 through www.mxpx.com and www.tumbledownhq.com only.
MXPX formed in Bremerton, WA in 1993. Since then, they have released numerous albums, singles, EP’s, and DVD’s. When people see me as a solo artist, I want them to be able to take some music home the way they heard it that night. Raw, stripped down, different, making something old new again.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MXPX SIDE PROJECT, ARTHUR,
RETURN AFTER 8 YEARS WITH THEIR LONG AWAITED FULL-LENGTH ALBUM, WATCH THE YEARS CRAWL BY, AVAILABLE DECEMBER 7
BAND ANNOUNCES FIRST PERFORMANCE IN OVER A DECADE
To Celebrate, Arthur Will Offer Fans Their First EP Loneliness Is Bliss Digitally, In Addition To A Handful Of Pre-Order Specials Exclusively On www.MxPx.com
Los Angeles, CA, November 22, 2010 – Formed as a side project by the current and past members of Bremerton, WA punk-pop band MxPx, Arthur began with the original line-up of Michael “Arthur” Herrera, Yuri “Zane” Ruley and MxPx stage tech, Neil “Alexander” Hundt in 1997. Shortly after, Tom “Edmund” Wisniewski joined, and Arthur took full form.
Using their middle names to distinguish themselves from their other project, Arthur, Alexander, Edmund, and Zane, as they like to be known, have finally finished work on the rather appropriately titled full-length album, Watch The Years Crawl By. As the band’s namesake wryly puts it, “This record was started before the industrial revolution of recording and finished in the golden age of digital recording.”
The band will release their long awaited full-length album, Watch The Years Crawl By on December 7 through their indie label, Rock City Recording Company. That same day, the band will also be offering their previously released EP, Loneliness Is Bliss digitally for the first time. Pre-sale orders and combination packages will be available starting Friday, November 26 at 12pm PST / 3pm EST on www.MxPx.com. Five bundles will be available total, one named after each band member and one holiday bundle.
The four-piece released their debut EP, Loneliness Is Bliss in 1999, the first through their newly formed independent record label, Rock City Recording Company. In support, they embarked on a two-week west coast stint, their only tour as Arthur to date. The band members were a bit apprehensive as to how their punk pop fan base would react to their 50’s doo-wop inspired tunes. The change in musical pace resonated with MxPx fans and in 2002, the quartet headed back into the studio to record their full-length but the album was postponed due to MxPx’s extensive tour schedule. Now, after many years Arthur, Alexander, Edmund, and Zane were ready to refocus their mindset and head back into the studio to finish their new release.
Don’t let Arthur’s main musical influence inspire visions of four guys on a street corner snapping their fingers and singing a cappella versions of Platters songs, though. While Arthur’s first full-length album, Watch The Years Crawl By, does boast a few songs where the influence of ‘50s/early ‘60s pop and rock & roll can be heard (“Tuck You In,” “Out of the Blue”), the songs undoubtedly diverge from the mainstream of MxPx output, there are still enough sonic reference points for fans of Arthur’s punkier alter ego. Only one track from the EP made it to the full-length, a newly re-recorded version of “Thought A Lot”. Overall, the album’s stylistic experimentation, love-centric lyric themes, and multiple melodic surprises offer something only hinted at in MxPx, a something the band hopes all music fans will enjoy.
With the long gap between records, the band collectively agrees that they “want Arthur fans to enjoy this rare moment in the band’s history. Arthur never did very much because we were busy with MxPx but what we did do was something special.”
Fans attending the band’s only performance this year, and first in over a decade will be able to see that specialness on Saturday, November 27 at Manette Saloon in Bremerton.
