Tumbledown Running On “Empty”

Road dogs Tumbledown found their way to Los Angeles Friday night for a fun-filled performance. Mike Herrera’s crew started the show with the foot-tapping favorite “Butcher Of San Antone,” then immediately captured the crowd with their cover of The Beatles’ “I’ve Just Seen A Face.” Some of the biggest responses of the night came from songs from their current “Empty Bottle” album. “Arrested In El Paso Blues,” “Great Big World,” the title track and Herrera’s current live favorite “Dead Man Walking” all raised the level of the room. Former Good Charlotte drummer Chris Wilson also made a guest appearance, playing on the “cover” of MxPx’s “Secret Weapon.” Wilson will be joining Herrera with MxPx All-Stars when they play Australia later this month. The evening came to a close with the crowd joining in on Willie Nelson’s “On The Road Again” and “Homeward Bound.” Tumbledown complete their current run February 19th in Bremerton, Washington.
